I would describe myself as a modern renaissance woman – and not just because I love renaissance fashion!
My family would describe me as easily distracted… But I just love experiencing new things and seeing what the world has to offer!
From training to be a ballerina, deciding musical theatre was for me, accepting that maybe I should get a normal job (flight attendant – not sure that really counts as normal…), to choosing a stunt life that has seen me setting myself on fire, jumping off tops of waterfalls and flying on wires, finally I found a world I want to stay in!
And it’s a fantasy one where dragons exist and fair maidens can kick butt while looking fabulous, where the fairytales we know so well can be rewritten and there’s always a morally grey but oh-so-stylish character!
What can I say, I love fantastical fashion!

The Sidekick
Flynn the Westie
Every fair maiden needs a faithful companion, and for me that’s my adorable West Highland Terrier, Flynn. He can often be found in my workroom judging my efforts or telepathically telling me that it’s time to put the work down and take him for a frolic!

Of course, every kick butt heroine needs a lair! Mine is full of fabric, buttons, sewing machines, and pins…
Very often, it’s like an explosion has gone off in there – utter chaos, scraps everywhere, can’t find the dog because he’s buried under a pile of fabric!
I’ve got big plans for renovating the workroom to suit my needs – and of course, to make it look incredible, just what a modern renaissance woman needs to hide away and craft her whimsical creations!
